Essex’s oldest brewer, established in 1981 by two CAMRA enthusiasts,
Colin Bocking and Robert Walster (who is no longer involved in the
business, but is now owner of one of the branch’s premier pubs the
“Prince of Wales” Stow Maries).
They have twice achieved the ultimate cask ale accolade, CAMRA’s
“Supreme Champion Beer of Britain” for “Brewers Gold” in 2005 and 2006.
Crouch Vale are one of the largest wholesalers of other brewers’ cask conditioned
beers in the Eastern Counties. They have one tied pub the Queen’s Head in Chelmsford, Essex, and Tap Room 19 (adjacent to the brewery in South Woodham Ferrers) is also open every evening. See their website for details.
