2018 South Woodham Ferrers Beer & Cider Festival

The theme of the 7th South Woodham Ferrers CAMRA beer festival is “Beers from Robin Hood Country”.  We will be offering 36 real ales, many of which will come from the East Midlands, where Robin Hood is reputed to have hailed from.  Today, there are some really excellent beers being brewed in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire, and we aim to choose some of the best for you to try at this year’s festival.  We will also have a good selection of real ales from our local breweries here in Essex. The Village Hall members’ bar will be available for visitors to the Festival to use, which will offer a range of Wibblers Ales.

There will also be ten ciders on offer.  The festival will be held from 4th to 6th October at the Village Hall, Hullbridge Road – which is only a two minutes’ walk from South Woodham Ferrers railway station.

This year, our nominated charity will be Mr Gees Foundation of South Woodham Ferrers, to support their excellent work in local projects which benefit the community and international water aid programmes.

SWF 2018 Staffing Form SWF Beer & Cider Festival Poster 2018

We hope some of you who’ve never volunteered in the past will think about giving it a go this year; we're confident you’ll find it a very rewarding and enjoyable experience!  If you’ve helped in the past, then we look forward to working with you again as part of the team involved in organising this event.

We will be providing the usual staffing benefits; this amounts to a free half-pint for every hour worked and for those who volunteer for over 10 hours in total, there is a free festival polo shirt (or £15 if you would like one without the 10 hours volunteering). Being staff will also entitle you to a small discount on food purchased from our caterers.  Download the staffing form below and send it to Robert Longley (details on the form).

Why not volunteer to help out at this year's Festival?
